SHEPHERD PIE

Anak-anak cuti sekolah...makanan nak kena sentiasa ada kat meja...
Mashed potato
8 potato ~ peeled, cleaned and boiled till soft
4 tablespoons butter
2 eggs ~ slightly beaten
200ml fresh milk
1 teaspoon pepper salt to taste

Method
Boil potato till soft and mash
In a pot, heat butter, milk, salt and pepper. Let butter melt then remove from heat
Add the egg into the mashed potato and mix well
Pour in the liquid and stir till well mixed

Filling
400g mince meat
3 onions ~ diced
2 carrots ~ diced
2 tomato ~ diced
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons soya sauce salt to taste
oil for frying
2 tablespoons flour
mixed vegetable ~ optional
1 egg yolk ~ for glazing

Method
Heat oil and put in the diced onion. Fry till fragrant
Add in the carrots and minced meat. Let it cook for a while
Add in the mixed vegetable, diced tomato, tomato sauce and soya sauce
Stir well till minced meat are well cooked
Add in salt
Add in flour*, mix well
Remove from heat and ready to use
How to make Shepherd Pie
Put a layer of mashed potato in the pie dish, on the base as well as the sides
Place the filling
Top with the balance mashed potato
Use a fork to make design on top then glaze with egg yolk
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 celcius for 30 - 40 minutes or till golden in colour
